Hello 2011-2012 CVA Parents and Players,
Congratulations and welcome to the team.
This is your official invitation to join CVA!
The names of the entire roster are posted on the website and listed below. We were very pleased with the turnout this year but really impressed with the level of talent. After two tryout days we decided to form two 12-year-old and one 13-year-old teams. A few of you parents made requests to keep your daughters on the same team for car pooling convenience. Please understand that ALL of our teams will be intermixed and practice on the same courts at the exact same times.
Furthermore, the entire club will participate in the same tournaments on the same dates.
Our practice schedule for this season is as follows:
- Wednesday 4:00-6:00
- Sunday 6:00-8:00
I will confirm the tournament weekend dates soon after the start of our season in December. So you understand, it is our intention to divide the 12-year-old players into two EQUAL and balanced teams.
There will NOT be an “A” and “B” team but officially be called CVA-BLACK and CVA-GOLD team!
The rosters of each of the teams will be selected later in December once the coaching staff further evaluates ability and court CHEMISTRY!
As a coach that has taught girls in Club and College levels for over 20 years, I have found that as we go through weekly drills some girls catch on to certain aspects of the game much quicker than others. That does not necessarily make them better players and certainly not court incompatible!
Also please understand that we may want to change up the rosters as the season progresses. We do this to be fair to all the girls. I understand that girls at this age are involved in several extra-curricular activities and have hectic school and homework schedules. I also understand that things come up and you MAY need to miss an occasional practice. When there is a conflict, I EXPECT an email or text so that we can plan practice accordingly. Please remember that we do indeed keep track of attendance.
On a personal note, I know you as parents sacrifice to be able to pay for this activity for your child. I want every parent to understand that you need to explain to your daughters that it is a sacrifice and that you expect the children to be focused when they are at practice. For those of you who don’t know me, I am very easy going. I want the girls to have fun. I give them many breaks but I expect total attention when we are practicing on the courts. When they are on the court, it is the time to learn and only fair to EVERYONE if all are focused and ready to play when the whistle blows.

In order to secure your spot on the roster the following MUST be done ASAP AND BEFORE November 15, 2012:
1) EMAIL me a confirmation that you plan on playing for us this season
2) You need to register your daughters on the Great Lakes Region Volleyball website and declare that you are playing for Chicago Volleyball Academy – CVA
3) Mail me the attached Contract, along with you initial deposit of $280.00 that is DUE November 15, 2011. Make checks payable to: Antonio Pavlov
